Janis Pastujov
Ballet

Janis brings a wealth of experience to JUMP DANCE, from her years as a professional Dancer, Choreographer and teacher. As a child, she studied with ballet in New Jersey with a variety of teachers including Oleg Briansky, Marlene Dell, Irine Fokine, and Joan Wolf, performing in such classics as the Nutcracker, Cinderella and Peter and the Wolf. She has a BFA in Dance from Mason Gross School of the Arts At Rutgers University, After graduating she performed with Wendy Osserman’s Modern Dance Company before hitting the road with Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus…yes she ran away to join the circus. Ringling gave her the opportunity to work as Dance Captain for choreographers, Roy Luthringer, Carl Jablonski, Stephanie Stromer, and directors Danny Hermann, Walter Painter and Larry Billman. She has also worked in dinner theater and a national tour of Hello Dolly! with Phil Ford and Mimi Hines.

Janis has had the pleasure of working for Mark and Ginny Hendry when she began teaching here in Florida. She is a graduate of the KIDDANCE teachers training workshop, where she studied the latest techniques for youth dance education and instilled a higher level of creativity to her teaching. She attained her certificate after 120 hours of lectures, exams, and skill tests. She is also presently working on her teacher certification to enable her to teach in the county school system. When not dancing she is wife to George and "hockey mom" to three sons, Nick . Michael and Alexander (Sasha!). She is excited to join the Jump Dance staff and bring her love and knowledge of dance to her students.
